For What It’s Worth

– Federico Santi, partner, Drawing Room Antiques, 401-841-5060 – Federico Santi, partner, Drawing Room Antiques, 401-841-5060 A peculiar object (pictured) was recently brought in: the hoof of a deceased deer. The owner questioned its purpose: it is an inkwell! The pewter lid depicts Mt. Kineo House, a large hotel on the edge of Moosehead Lake in Kineo, Maine which was built in 1884. Probably sold at the hotel gift shop. A collector of inkwells might pay upwards of $300.
