Holiday Glam

Christmas at the Newport Mansions returns to The Breakers, The Elms and Marble House with newly imagined holiday decor through Jan. 1. In the dining room of The Breakers, the table is extended and decorated for a traditional High Victorian Christmas (Read more about the table scapes on page 8). The traditional 15-foot tall red poinsettia tree is once again on view in the Great Hall of The Breakers. Made up of up to 150 individual plants, the poinsettia tree is a perennial visitor favorite. On the second floor loggia, visitors can see a garden scale Hudson JE Steam Locomotive, a replica of one of the Vanderbilt family's New York Central Railroad locomotives, with accompanying cars. Stroll through the decorated rooms, enjoy live music and refreshments at The Breakers on Saturdays, from 6 to 8 p.m. www.newportmansions.org.
