Unveiling the Mystery of a Woman’s Soul

Sunday, Jan. 21, will kick off the first of seven consecutive Sunday evening sessions from 6 - 7:30 p.m. for women looking to deepen their level of intimacy with Christ and tap into their truest desires. This is a book-based series that touches on some deep and necessary areas of reflection for adult women. Sessions will be held in the adult education room upstairs in the parish house. ‘Living with Conscious Abandon’

Central Baptist Church, 99 Narragansett Ave., Jamestown, will offer five sessions of “Living with Conscious Abandon” on Mondays from 1-2:30 p.m. on Jan. 22, Feb. 26, March 26, April 23, and a day in May to be announced. The group will focus on personal reflection of both Christian and Eastern spiritual guidelines in living each day with conscious awareness of personal intention, thought, speech and actions. The group will gather to share its responses to daily reflections that will be of use in living lives with wisdom, integrity and compassion. The reference guide will be “Living and Dying with Confidence: A Day by Day Guide,” by Anyen Rinpoche and Allison Choying Zangmo. The guide can be purchased on Amazon for $11. The class is free. An Afternoon Treat with Barry Rose, O.B.E.

St. John’s Church, 61 Poplar St., will offer “An Afternoon Treat with Barry Rose, O.B.E,” on Sunday, Jan. 28. Rose is one of the United Kingdom's most distinguished and experienced choral directors, having directed the music on several great state and royal occasions, including Her Majesty the Queen's Silver Jubilee Service and the wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Diana in 1981. The afternoon includes an open rehearsal of St. John’s choir with Rose, 3-4:30 p.m., for a $10 general admission at the door; a public service of choral evensong, 5-5:45 p.m., with a free-will offering; and an English afternoon tea with Rose at 5:45 p.m. Although free, space at the tea is limited and tickets are required. Rest and Return

St. Mary’s Church, 324 East Main Road, Portsmouth, will hold an alternative Christian experience on Sunday, Jan. 28 at 4 p.m. Led by the Rev. Jennifer Pedrick, Gabe Giella and Shelley Dugan, the session will include meditation, reflection, sacred movement and Holy Communion. There will be a free-will offering. Warm-Up Wednesdays

St. Paul’s Church, 12 Marlborough St., will hold Warm-Up Wednesdays in Barber Hall through the winter months from 1-4 p.m. Hot coffee, tea and refreshments are available. 401-846-0966.
